WilloWind Energy is a developer and operator of wind farms in the UK

Linfairn Wind Farm

The proposed Linfairn Wind Farm will be located on farmland to the south of Straiton, South Ayrshire. It is envisaged that Linfairn Wind Farm will consist of 17 wind turbines each with a rated capacity of 3.2 MW, with a total site capacity of 54.4 MW.

Once operational it is anticipated that Linfairn Wind Farm would generate enough electricity to power over 36,500 homes. It is estimated that it will take 3 years for Linfairn Wind Farm to pay back the carbon emissions invested in its construction based on the carbon savings that the electricity produced by Linfairn Wind Farm will generate.

Willowind is dedicated to delivering benefits to the local communities that the wind farm resides in. To this end Willowind is committed to provide £5,000 per MW of installed capacity over the operational life period of the wind farm (circa £270,000 per annum) into a community benefit fund. This fund will be specifically focused on the financing of schemes designed to boost local education, employment and tourism.
